Today through Sunday, the University’s Ecological Design Center will host its 11th annual Holistic
Options for Planet Earth Sustainability conference at Lawrence Hall. Students develop and manage the conference.
The event includes keynote speeches, panel discussions, workshops, a showcase of ecological design projects by professional designers, and a design challenge. Design challenge entries from students, professionals and architecture enthusiasts will be judged according to this year’s conference theme, “reVISION, reDESIGN, reSOLUTION.”
Workshops will cover topics such as solar energy, professional ethics, a portable chapel made of recycled materials that University students designed for second marriages, and outfits made from trash and recycled materials.
