The continued attacks on conservatism, Christian ideals and morality in the commentary section have remained unchallenged and grossly slanted. Preaching the acceptance of sexual and racial diversity yet turning a deaf ear to political diversity is hypocrisy. The real issue here is not promoting the acceptance of all minorities, but force-feeding these views down the throats of millions who do not want to appear intolerant. What about the tolerance of pro-life issues? Heterosexuality? Patriotism? These virtues have been lost on the American public too brainwashed by liberal activists intent on pushing their agendas further into our faces.
The worst issues to be on the “wrong side” of today are those that deal with the normalization of homosexuality, the arguments of which are too often dodged by conservatives. Failure to articulate the logic of our pro-family position leaves the impression that we have no reasonable response, other than religious belief, to their attack on family values. I do not consider myself homophobic, the definition of which, as few know, is “the fear and hate of homosexuals.” I do not fear, nor do I hate homosexuals, I simply do not share their view that homosexuality is as “normal” as heterosexuality.
Who can deny the self-evidence of the heterosexual design of the human body? What’s more, proponents of the “gays are born that way” justification for normalizing homosexuality bear the burden of proof. In response to the column (“Focus on the Gay,” Jan. 24) I suggest the re-evaluation of biased beliefs rather than the misrepresentation of the Christian right and the supposed “frailty of its belief system,” the values of which millions of people across the globe base their faith. Take your own advice and diversify yourself politically.
