Halloween is almost here. But if you’re anything like me, you’ve waited until the last minute to put your costume together. Still have no idea how you’re going to dress up? Well here are a few easy ways to look like your favorite celebrity on the scariest night of the year.
First things first. If you want to pull off any star’s look, you need a few staple items. Of course, you must have a pair of ginormous sunglasses that take up way too much of your face. Make sure you keep these glasses on at all times; stars don’t care if they’re indoors or if it’s nighttime. Hello, they’re famous and normal rules about fashion don’t apply. Having your cell phone attached to your ear is also a tell-tale sign that you’re a famous celebrity. But if it’s too tiring to hold your phone all the time, just text-message on your Sidekick as much as possible.
The easiest celebrity look to pull off is probably Mary-Kate “You-can-fit-me-in-your-pocket” Olsen. All you’ve got to do is go to Goodwill and pick up a pair of stockings, cowboy boots, a strangely patterned skirt (paisleys would probably be nice) and a sweater found in the men’s section that preferably goes down to your calves. Don’t forget the long scarf and chunky jewelry as well. Carrying around a $1,500 purse is also a good idea. Now, don’t brush your hair and remember, when you pose for pictures with all of your “fans,” make sure you stick your lips out like a duck.
All right, next up is Pop Princess Britney Spears. This one will be a little trickier, but luckily you only need two items to pull this look off. Your first accessory will be a grande frappuccino from Starbucks (any flavor will do). Now all you need is a man with cornrows who wears baggy pants, a wife beater and socks with sandals to follow you around and spend all of your money. Talk with a slight southern twang (saying “y’all” as in “Y’all so funny!” will help), and you’ll complete the package.
Another great costume is Angelina Jolie. First off, you’ll need an adorable kid from Cambodia and a sweet little baby from Ethiopia to carry around with you at all times. Do not let them get away – they will help protect you from the paparazzi and will easily defer your home-wrecker image. For clothes, Jolie keeps it simple – just an expensive cashmere black shirt and a $400 pair of jeans will do. Don’t fret if your lips aren’t as luscious as Miss Jolie’s. Just use your lip liner and color a little outside the lines. VoilÃ
