Experience African culture this Friday — without even leaving Eugene. Dance Africa will perform at 8 p.m. at the Frances Dougherty Dance Theatre. Guinean dancer Youssouf Koumbassa and drummer Mamadouba Camara will join the student touring company.
Adjunct dance instructor Rita Honka founded the company in 1993, and company members use the funds raised by ticket sales to travel to local schools, where they teach children about African culture.
Enjoy pulse-pounding rhythms and dance for $5 at the door for students and seniors, $10 for the general public.
