The Eugene Planning Commission is holding a public hearing at 6 p.m. on Oct. 22 about the conditional use permit for a child care center the University plans to build near campus.
Hearings Official Virginia Gustafson approved the permit for the center Sept. 20, but Jeff Osanka and Toby Grant, two residents of the Fairmount neighborhood, filed an appeal against the permit Sept. 30.
Gustafson originally told the Emerald she approved the permit because she found the design to be compatible with the area.
The new appeal postpones the University’s building plans while the city reevaluates the permit application. The hearing will be held at the City Council Chambers located at 777 Pearl St.
