With the season halfway over and the Oregon Club Sports hockey team tied for third place in the PAC-8, the Ducks have a shot at the tournament in February.
“We have an intense schedule with very little room for error,” head coach Gareth MacDonald said. “We do expect to finish well above .500.”
The Ducks still have games against Washington, USC and Stanford, the first, third and fifth place teams, respectively, in the conference.
This weekend Oregon plays Eastern Washington for the third time this season. In October, the Ducks lost 5-3 in both games.
Having only lost the first home game this season, Oregon is 7-1-0 in Eugene.
“When at home, we’re a very strong team,” said MacDonald.
The Ducks host Eastern Washington at the Lane County Ice Arena at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
