Being a columnist is great, like I’ve said many times
before. I love the power. But it’s even greater when
people respond to my columns. I love the people that
agree with me, but even more I love the people that
disagree with me.
I can’t count how many times I’ve been told how
“stupid” and “ignorant” I am for what I believe in.
But at the same time, I welcome it, no matter how
“stupid” and “ignorant” others are for not allowing me
to voice my opinion because it is just that — MY
opinion.
I don’t care that people want to rant and rave and
point fingers at me and say, “step behind me, Satan.”
I am not the anti-Christ, although on this campus my
views are coming pretty close.
I like shocking our readers into writing a letter to
the editor, whether good or bad. As I’ve said all year, some of the
greatest debate
come from the most heated arguments and that is people
disagreeing with me.
It’s rather ironic that the weekend before my column
“Time for action against Iraq” (ODE, Feb. 13, 2003) ran,
there were rallies against war with Iraq. It’s rather
amusing how things kind of play out.
Hey, I may be Christian, but sometimes the norm is way
overrated. Sometimes I like to step away from the norm
and act and be someone people don’t or won’t expect.
Until next time I will continue to “Say it Loud.”
