Students for Peace is selling seats for an Oregon Coachways bus bound for San Francisco this weekend. The trip will give students and community members an opportunity to participate in a nationwide anti-war rally taking place Saturday.
Tickets for the bus, which will seat a total of 46 people, cost $45 and can be purchased at the ASUO office. Housing will also be provided for the weekend at either a Berkeley Unitarian Universalist Church or a co-op. The deadline to buy a ticket is 4 p.m. Wednesday.
The bus will leave from McArthur CourtFriday at 10 p.m. and will arrive at the rally Saturday morning. It will depart again Sunday at 10 p.m.. Bus riders should arrive at departure locations at 9:15 p.m. before each trip.
Participants must provide their own food during the weekend, as well as money for transportation within San Francisco.
“I think (the event) is a chance for national solidarity in the anti-war movement,” Students for Peace member Beth Ayres said. “If we can get the West Coast and the East Coast organized, it’ll be a lot easier to organize the entire country.”
