A basement fire forced guests to evacuate the Best Western hotel next to the University of Oregon campus Tuesday afternoon.
No injuries were reported, according to a press release from Eugene Springfield Fire. The fire started in the hotel’s unfurnished basement workshop, where arriving firefighters were able to contain it. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
