Oregon’s roster continues to take hits prior to the upcoming season.
As of Tuesday, Nov. 13, outfielders Shannon Rhodes and Alyssa Pinto are no longer listed on the team’s roster, which is now down to 14 players.
Rhodes, a junior, started in 59 of Oregon’s 62 games last season, quickly becoming a valuable key to Oregon’s lineup. In her sophomore season, she scored 39 runs and hit 42 RBIs and 11 home runs to be named Second Team All-Pacific Region. Rhodes, the Ducks’ starting center fielder, was ranked second on the team with 14 stolen bases, third with 59 hits and fifth for most runs scored.
As a freshman in the 2017 season, Rhodes made a name for herself being recognized as both a Pac-12 All-Freshman and the NCAA Eugene Regional MVP. She played in all 59 games for the Ducks, starting in all but five. Outside of scoring 38 runs, her seven home runs and 46 RBIs ranked her third on the team.
Pinto, a freshman, was ranked No. 72 in the country coming into Oregon by FloSoftball. She had not played a competitive game for Ducks before her departure.
Also missing from the roster is junior infielder Madi Bishop. Bishop left the team earlier this offseason.
She did not play last season, but appeared in 40 games in the 2017 season, including 23 starts. As a sophomore, she scored five runs, hit two home runs and 18 RBIs while batting .176 on the season. On defense, the Jonesboro, Arkansas, native, did not make an error all year.
In her freshman season, Bishop played in 27 games and hit two home runs on top of going 1-1 on stolen bases. She earned Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention after this season as well. Coming into the Oregon program, Bishop was ranked the No. 45 recruit in the nation by FloSoftball.
