No. 6 Oregon baseball kicks off their biggest series of the season this weekend: the Civil War. The Civil War series always has hype surrounding it, but this year it’s justified. The winner of the series will likely win the Pac-12 and earn the right to host super regionals. No. 4 Oregon State has been [...]
How good is Oregon pitching? In the 30 innings the Ducks spent at Bill Davis Stadium this weekend, the Buckeyes managed to plate just one run. On Sunday, it was Jake Reed on the mound turning in seven scoreless innings before handing the ball to Christian Jones for the eighth. Oregon’s Mr. Consistency, Jimmie Sherfy, [...]
It is nearly impossible to follow Pac-12 baseball and not place major implications on the four games played between Oregon and Oregon State in mid-May. The two teams are at the top of the conference, and most polls have them both ranked in the top 10 nationally, with Oregon State usually just a few spots [...]
I’m sure this won’t be published but I have to get this off my chest. I am a UO alumni, as are about nine immediate members of my family, and I am embarrassed by the behavior of the fans during and after the OSU game. Making fun of Roberto Nelson’s academic performance (SAT chant during [...]
Dana Altman’s Ducks moved up five spots, from 24th to 19th, in this week’s AP Top 25 after a Civil War win last Thursday. Oregon is ranked one spot behind Arizona, despite the team’s identical records and Oregon’s win over Arizona. UCLA is also ranked behind Arizona, at No. 23, despite a pair of wins [...]
It is all coming together for Oregon men’s basketball. The Ducks scored a come-from-behind win over rival Oregon State on Thursday night, 85-75, in an emotionally-charged atmosphere that served as the final home game of the season as well as a senior sendoff for four players. The win spelled sole possession of first place in [...]
It was a memorable night at Matthew Knight Arena. There were 10,621 in attendance for senior night on Thursday, and every fan had the rare opportunity to witness one of the best Civil War battles in recent memory. All four seniors played their hearts out in their final home game, forever engraving their mark as [...]
The Civil War hasn’t seemed like a fair fight on the gridiron, but it has been much more of an even tilt on the hardwood. There’s only one senior Duck this year who has played at Oregon all four years, and in that time E.J. Singler and the Ducks have played quite evenly with Oregon [...]
Part two of this year’s Civil War showdown on the hardwood takes place Thursday night when the men of Oregon take on Oregon State in what, at least on paper, is a bit of a mismatch. The Ducks sit atop the Pac-12 standings at 11-4, while the Beavers sit in second-to-last at 3-12. But as [...]
Coming off a win against the rival Oregon State Beavers, the Ducks improved to 12-2 on the season. But despite their impressive record and their key win against the currently No. 24-ranked UNLV Rebels early in the season, the Ducks still find themselves outside of the AP Top 25 as they continue to try and [...]
#10 — Will Murphy gets a touchdown A walk-on player from Albany, Ore., less than an hour away from Eugene, Will Murphy was a redshirt scout team member in 2008. In 2009, 2010 and 2011 he played minimal meaningful minutes. But in 2012, Murphy amassed 181 yards on 19 grabs, including his first career touchdown, [...]
While you were eating too much food and slipping into a tryptophan-induced coma, Oregon athletics stayed busy competing. Here’s a quick recap of how the Ducks did over Thanksgiving break. Volleyball ends year strong. Following Oregon’s stunning sweep of No. 5 UCLA, the No. 6 Ducks traveled to Corvallis. Just like Oregon football, volleyball finished its [...]

Oregon Ducks baseball ended its best Pac-12 season performance since reinstatement by being shutout 5 – 0 at the hands of the Oregon State Beavers. The Ducks third-consecutive loss of the season also meant the Beavers officially swept this year’s civil war series.
Coming off their best win of the season, a 38-21 victory over Washington, Oregon State will face a tough test in the Civil War.
