For those of us dealing with impending finals it can be hard to do things like clean your room, eat a proper meal or check Twitter. Here’s help with the last one.
FIFA under fire
The US Department of Justice indicted FIFA officials and executives for corruption, Wednesday at a Swiss hotel. FIFA, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association, was indicted on 47 different counts of wrong doing over a 24 year period.
“They were expected to uphold the rules that keep soccer honest, and protect the integrity of the game,” Attorney General Loretta Lynch said. “Instead, they corrupted the business of worldwide soccer to serve their interests and enrich themselves.”
Duggers controversy
TLC suspended 19 Kids and Counting, but has yet to cancel the show, after molestation allegations came out. The show about conservative family has been highly criticized after news broke that son Josh Duggar allegedly molested five underage girls. The internet has plenty to say about this. Some critics argue that TLC should have canceled the show already, many criticize the Duggar family for supporting Josh over the survivors.
The story has already been highly spoofed on shows like the Nightly Show, the Daily Show and Funny or Die.
Ireland becomes the first country to legalize same sex marriage
A referendum passed Saturday May 23 in Ireland legalizing same sex marriage. Ireland is the first country to do so.
Shortly after the referendum came a twitter fight between the Westboro Baptist Church and Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling.
.@jk_rowling wants Dumbledore & Gandalf to marry in Ireland; if it happens WBC will picket! #NotBanned pic.twitter.com/bGzk3pJB8G @benjamincohen

To which Rowling responded,
.@WBCsigns Alas, the sheer awesomeness of such a union in such a place would blow your tiny bigoted minds out of your thick sloping skulls.
