– Andrew Nemec of the Oregonian looked at Oregon football’s recruiting feedback by Oregon high school coaches as the 168-day evaluation period comes to a close.
– Former Oregon quarterback Darron Thomas was named Arena Football League player of the week on Tuesday. Thomas currently plays for the Portland Thunder.
– Oregon baseball fought back from a 2-0 deficit in the top of the eighth inning Tuesday night in Corvallis to beat the Beavers 3-2 in 11 innings.
– Duck softball freshman Jenna Lilley was one of three student-athletes named on Wednesday as a finalist for the NFCA Freshman of the Year award. She joins Alabama’s Alexis Osorio and Oklahoma’s Paige Parker on the short list. The winner will be announced next Tuesday.
– The new softball stadium received another substantial gift, the athletic department announced on Tuesday. Bob Sanders gifted $6 million to the new stadium, which will open in 2016, and be named Jane Sanders Stadium after his late wife. The gift is on top of the $10 million initial gift Bob Sanders gifted in 2014.
– Oregon club rowing took home the gold and silver medal at regionals, as Kenny Jacoby recapped recently. Oregon’s contingent of more than 30 rowers competed in four varsity races and had their best finish in a decade.
– Oregon women’s basketball former walk-on Katie Gruys was awarded a scholarship for her senior season, head coach Kelly Graves announced after practice on Monday. Gruys had struggled to balance basketball, school and work as a walk-on, but was rewarded for hard work and dedication to the program.
