– Headlined by Marcus Mariota and Arik Armstead, the Oregon football program will be represented by seven players at the 2015 NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana. Joining Mariota and Armstead are Hronnis Grasu, Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, Jake Fisher, Tony Washington and Troy Hill.
– The Oregon softball program opened up its season Friday with an 8-0 win over the Cal Poly Mustangs in the its first game of the Kajikawa Classic. Karissa Hovinga started the game at pitcher and threw four scoreless innings while transfer Geri Ann Glasco finished out the game by throwing the final three innings. Freshman Jenna Lilley began her career with Oregon with a two-RBI single in her first at-bat and helped ignite a Ducks’ offense that pounded out 12 hits.
– Oregon coaching legend Ernie Kent makes his return to Eugene tomorrow as the head coach of the Washington State men’s basketball team. Kent compiled a 235-174 record in 13 years as the head coach of the Ducks (1997-2010) and was a member of the program for four years.
– Oregon’s acrobatic and tumbling gave Chelsea Shaw a victory in her head coaching debut on Wednesday evening. The Ducks flew by Azusa-Pacific by a score of 281.480-275.100 in a rematch of last year’s national championship, an outcome that resulted in an Oregon victory also.
– Even with the loss of talented seniors such as Mariota, Grasu, Ekpre-Olomu and Washington, the future of Oregon football looks as bright as ever. With the completion of national signing day, the Ducks landed 22 total commitments for the class of 2015.
