– Former University of Oregon basketball player Brandon Austin is suing the University of Oregon to the tune of $7.5 million. Austin was dismissed by the UO in 2014 after a sexual assault allegation was filed against him and several of his teammates, all of whom were also dismissed. The suit Austin is filing against the university claims professional and personal harm, emotional hardship, and future income depletion due to a reduced chance of playing for the National Basketball Association.
– Oregon women’s soccer snapped a seven-game losing streak, beating Washington 1-0 on Senior Day. Freshman Marissa Everett scored the lone goal in overtime.
– The Ducks remain unranked in the latest AP Poll. The Pac-12 is still well represented as Stanford (9), Utah (13), and UCLA (22) all hold spots in the Top 25. The top four teams are Ohio State, Baylor, Clemson, and LSU.
– Led by senior Martenne Bettendorf and junior Amanda Benson, Oregon volleyball beat Colorado in a five-set nail biter to snap its three game losing streak. They take on No. 13 Stanford this Thursday at Matthew Knight Arena.
– The California Golden Bears make the trip up to Eugene next week, hoping to snap their three-game losing streak. Cal’s quarterback, Jared Goff, has 2,537 passing yards and 22 touchdowns on the season. He will test Oregon’s shaky secondary.
