Oregon volleyball won in straight sets tonight at Cal after three Ducks had double digit kills, 26-24, 25-19, 25-22.
The win upped Oregon’s record 9-5, 3-2 Pac-12, giving them one last preparation match before taking on Stanford Sunday.
Some familiar faces were key in tonight’s win, but other players who haven’t had as much playing time this year, also did their part for the Ducks.
Taylor Agost and Kacy Nady both put up kills for Oregon and contributed to the night’s .350 hitting percentage.
Nady opened the match with two kills and a winning joust at the start of set one. Following closely were two aces by Chelsey Keoho to tie the set midway through. Lindesey Vander Weide also put up three aces for the Ducks in the first set, leading to the 26-24 win.
In set two, kills at mid set by Agost and Nady gave Oregon the 14-11 lead. By the end of the night, Agost had ten total kills for the Ducks, while Nady had eight accompanied by a .438 hitting percentage. Set two ended on a kill by Agost and took the Ducks to set three with a 2-0 lead over Cal.
Adding more aces for the night, setter Maggie Scott’s service point gave Oregon an early lead in the third set that was followed by another ace from Vander Weide. As the Oregon worked to maintain its lead, Martenne Bettendorf got a double-double with 12 digs and 11 kills.
At match point, Agost made the kill for Ducks off an assist by Scott, winning the set 25-22 and the match 3-0.
Oregon will remain in California for its second road match of the week against Stanford on Sunday. The match begins at 5 p.m with coverage by the Pac-12 Network.
