Oregon wide receiver Byron Marshall is likely done for the rest of the season after suffering an apparent leg injury during a kick return against Utah last Saturday, Aaron Fentress of CSNW.com reported Wednesday morning.
A source told Fentress that Marshall underwent surgery Tuesday. Marshall was not listed in Oregon’s weekly depth chart released on Tuesday. Fentress’s source did not specify the exact procedure Marshall received.
One source told Fentress that Marshall, the San Jose, California native, is “done,” while another said it is likely “he won’t play anytime soon.”
So far this season, Marshall leads the conference with 27.5 yards per kick return. He totaled 74 receptions for 1,003 yards and six touchdowns last season for the Ducks. The senior, who converted to wide receiver from running back, could seek a medical redshirt for the season, Fentress reported.
