Oregon women’s basketball center Janitah Iamaleava has left the team, head coach Kelly Graves announced after Sunday’s 79-76 loss to Washington State.
“She’s taking the time to just kind of concentrate on things outside of basketball,” Graves said.
Graves said her decision to leave is permanent. She was not on the bench during Oregon’s loss to the Cougars on Jan. 18.
Iamaleava, a Long Beach, California native, appeared in three games this season, playing 12 total minutes. She recorded two baskets this season, one against USC and one against Oregon State.
She played in nine games last season, tallying 51 total minutes. She recored five points against Bakersfield in the season-opener and four rebounds against Portland on Dec. 12.
Iamaleava missed her freshman season due to injury and played in 13 games as a redshirt freshman.
