The Pac-12 Championships got off to a beautiful start today at Hayward Field with 78 degree temperatures and no clouds in site. Hayward Field’s pro-Ducks appearance was transformed into a pro-Pac-12 atmosphere where fans cheered for athletes no matter their school. Much of the track-specific events ran only preliminaries with the finals taking place tomorrow (with the exception of the men’s and women’s steeplechase and 10,000 meter run. All of the field-specific events that ran today went through preliminaries and finals. Tomorrow’s track finals start at 1 p.m. with several field events starting between 10:45 a.m. and noon.
