On Tuesday, the Tigers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first three minutes, but the lead was short-lived as Oregon sophomore Shannon Propst netted her fifth goal of the season to tie the match at 3-3 with less than 14 minutes remaining in the first half.
Towson eventually worked its way to an 8-4 lead before intermission and remained in control throughout the second half. The Tigers found the back of the net three times before the Ducks scored their final goal of the day with less than nine minutes to play.
The Tigers held a 26-18 shooting advantage over Oregon and kept a narrow 16-15 edge in ground balls.
Sophomore Nikki Puszcz paced Oregon with three goals offensively, while Propst accounted for the other two. Sophomore goalkeeper Caroline Federighi was tagged with the loss for the Ducks after giving up 11 goals against four saves in 47:32 minutes of action. The Ducks will return to action this Sunday when they make their home debut in the conference opener against California at 1 p.m. at Pape Field.
