It’s registration week — those three to four times of year where everyone outside of architecture majors tries their best to reconcile the classes they need with the classes they can’t get into.
So, if you haven’t registered yet, or if you have and you’re still working through that process, here are a couple of the classes we recommend you try to avoid in spring term.
10. HIST 103: Western Civilization — you already learned it in high school
9. ECON 201/202: Micro/Macroeconomics — unless you’re a journalism or econ major, it’s not worth it
8. LING 150: Structure of English Words — especially not online. That’s right, linguistics is available online; it’s just a really bad idea
7. DANC 170: Modern — built for no one but dance majors
6. BA 101: Intro to Business — just sign up for the major or don’t already
5. PETS 101: Bocce Ball — it’s going to be unbearable trying to explain to people that you’re using your PE classes for Bocce. And someone needs to explain how this is a ‘team sport.’
4. J 320: Gender, Media and Diversity — if you’ve been known to get in arguments with professors, this is definitely not the class for you
3. COLT (any): Comparative Literature — unless you’re the best reader, you’ll struggle when Oregon’s spring rears its beautiful head
2. CH 113: Chemistry of Sustainability — you barely get Randy Sullivan to pace the class right with all his Blowing Stuff Up and … stuff
1. MATH 111: College Algebra — just … take it another term if you really have to
