The Oregon Ducks (who lead the overall Civil War series 58 – 29) fell to the Oregon State Beavers 68 – 53 Saturday afternoon. They led for most of the game, racking up 14 steals and scoring 20 points off the Beavers’ 20 turnovers. But that all came to a halt in the second half when the Ducks went ice cold from the field, shooting just 18%. The Beavers had other plans and came out charging, shooting 44% from the field. With 11 minutes left in the second half, down 32 – 40, the Beavers went on an 18 -1 run and never trailed again. Senior forward Amanda Johnson and sophomore guard Ariel Thomas finished with 13 points apiece while pulling down 10 and 5 rebounds respectively. The Ducks’ loss was the second time this season that they fell to the Beavers.
