After easily dispatching the Northern Colorado Bears in straight sets last night in the opening round of the NCAA volleyball tournament, the Ducks are back at it tonight and will take on the Dayton Flyers in the round of 32.
The Ducks made quick work of Northern Colorado last night, winning 25-14, 25-19 and 25-18 with quality performances turned in by Alaina Bergsma, Ariana Williams and Lauren Plum. The opening round win means that Oregon has now advanced further in the tournament than they did last year when they suffered a surprising five-set loss to Colorado State. @@http://www.goducks.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=500&ATCLID=205818730@@ @@names checked@@
Jim Moore and his team will now turn their attention to the Flyers, who won a five-set thriller over Pepperdine last night in the first match of the evening at Matthew Knight Arena. Dayton came out of the gates a little slow and dropped the first two sets before eventually coming back and eventually winning in five.
The match is slated to began at 8 p.m. at Matthew Knight Arena, and the winner will advance to take on the winner of the Oklahoma-BYU matchup and will be played on Dec. 7.
