Recently regaining their No. 2 ranking (highest in school history), the Oregon Volleyball team will try and continue their pursuit for a national championship as they take on the California Golden Bears tonight at Matthew Knight Arena at 6 p.m. The theme of the match will be Spike For the Cure, which is centered around the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign and for fans wearing pink, G.A. tickets will be available for a discounted price of $3 at the door.
As usual, current students with valid IDs will get free admission to the game and for this game, current UO staff and faculty will as well. A special raffle will also be held at the game by the Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and all proceeds will go to helping support local research and treatment programs.
For the Ducks, expect to see some pink in their uniforms tonight as they will likely come out with special edition uniforms for the occasion. The Ducks will be taking on a struggling California team with a record of 11-11, but as the recent NCAA runners-up and winner of the Pac-10 conference in 2010, the California Golden Bears won’t be anything short of challenging.
Reminders: Wear pink, $3 G.A. admission at the door, come help support the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.
On the horizon: On Sunday, Nov. 4, the Ducks will look forward to what could be the matchup of the year as they take on the No. 1 Stanford Cardinals. This will be Eugene’s first time hosting the top two nationally ranked teams and you won’t want to miss it.
