Arizona man run over by wife for not voting
Following the re-election of President Barack Obama, 28-year-old Holly Solomon was arrested after she pinned her husband, Daniel Solomon, 36, underneath her vehicle, according to NBC News.
Daniel Solomon said his wife became angry over his “lack of voter participation” and believed he was partially to blame for Obama’s re-election.
France recognizes new Syrian rebel group
France became the first European country to formally recognize Syria’s rebel coalition, known as the National Coalition of Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces.
The United States and Britain have encouraged the rebel group’s formation, but have yet to formally back the group due to concerns regarding weapons supply. France has yet to determine whether they will provide the rebels with weapons, but has hinted at doing so, reports The New York Times.
Report says text messaging is declining in US
People in the U.S. are texting less, according to a report given to NBC News. Text messaging dropped from an average of 696 messages per user per month in the second quarter to 678 in the third quarter of 2012, according to the study.
Satellites suggest North Korea working on missiles
Data provided by 38 North, a website run by the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University, suggests that North Korea is again working at developing long range missile systems, according to CNN.
The website announced that North Korea has carried out at least two tests of large rocket motors at the at a launch facility on the country’s west coast.
The tests come after a display on April 13 that saw a test missile break apart shortly after takeoff in front of an international audience.
