U.S. Rep. Peter DeFazio will be coming to the University of Oregon campus today, according to his office in Eugene this morning.
He’ll be speaking at a student protest in the EMU Amphitheater at 12:15 p.m. Groups joining the protest, “Education is Not a Commodity,” include the Multicultural Center, the Survival Center and the Graduate Teaching Fellows Federation at the UO. The rally is scheduled to go from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Students and graduate students will be demonstrating against tuition increases for undergraduates and current pay of GTFs, according to the event’s Facebook page.
