University groups plan to gather in the EMU Concourse for the Sustainability Fair on Tuesday to show off all the work they’ve put into campus events, community gardens and sustainable housing solutions.
Elise Downing@@directory@@, the Sustainability Center Assistant, is excited about the event and looking forward to seeing a good turnout this year.
“The Sustainability Fair is important because it is a way for the university-wide community to show its support of all the hard work sustainability groups are doing on this campus. Students work extremely hard to make the university community more inclusive, sustainable and just, but sometimes their efforts go unnoticed,” Downing said. “It is a space for interested students to see all of the amazing work students are doing on this campus, have some fun and learn how they can get engaged in the issues.”
So far, some of the groups at the fair will include Climate Justice League, OSPRIG, the Center for the Advancement of Sustainable Life, Edible Campus, the Outdoor Program, Students for Global Health and UO $core.
The event will take place in the EMU Concourse on Oct. 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., although students are encouraged to come early because tables will be fully stocked with prizes and giveaways.
