At 4:45 p.m. Friday, a Lane Community College plane crashed in a field near Highway 126 by Fern Ridge Lake, according to KEZI. Only two people — a student and instructor as part of the school’s flight program — were on board.
While the pilot suffered minor injuries, he was not taken to the hospital. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board.
