Despite minimal finances, ASUO senators handled a special request from the International Student Association and adjourned this week’s meeting in less than seven minutes. The quick turnaround was due to a simple transfer request made by ISA.
The ISA representative was interested in transferring $344 from their food line item to their orientation line item. The transfer would help rent out the EMU Ballroom which is needed to house the predicted 300+ students who will be in attendance Saturday night for the group’s first social event.
After the motion was passed, the group’s presenter quickly clarified that the intention was to transfer $400, not $344.
ASUO Sens. Ben Rudin and Jeremy Hedlund quickly made the correction and moved to transfer an additional $56 which was passed by the body immediately.
None of the official summer senators attended the last summer meeting, and Sen. Molly Bacon addressed the body with her frustrations on the matter.
