It’s been a predictable sight this season.
Both in the season opener against Arkansas State and last week against Fresno State, Oregon’s opponents have been understandably reluctant to kick anywhere near DeAnthony Thomas on kickoffs, instead skying the ball so that it somebody on the second row of Oregon’s kick return and prompting a fair catch.
“It depends if people are going to throw the white flag up,” Kelly said. “We’ve moved our guys up to try and take advantage of it, but it seems like when we move them up they kick it shorter. If they’re going to kick it shorter, we’ll take it on the 40 every time.”
