Eugene man missing
A Eugene man reported missing Sunday afternoon was last seen in northeast Eugene, according to a KVAL story. Sean David Wilhelm, 20, was last seen in the 300 block of Irving Road in the Santa Clara area at 1 p.m. Sunday wearing a green and yellow Oregon shirt with blue jeans and brown slip-on shoes.
Oregon Albertsons recalls beef
Alberstons is recalling a number of ground beef products sold in Oregon, Washington and Idaho stores, due to risk of E. coli, according to the StarTibune. No illnesses have been reported.
The raw ground beef products were sold at its full service counters at the customer’s request or sold in packaged form with an Albertsons store label between Sept. 3 and Sept. 21. The products are no longer for sale at any stores.
Oregon school districts give drug tests in grade school
Two schools districts in Oregon joined an increasing number of districts using random drug tests in grade school.
According to The Register-Guard, randomly chosen students in Scio and Central Linn school districts take a Breathalyzer test and submit a urine sample. Samples that test positive are retested and the student loses playing time as well as having to attend drug and alcohol counseling.

Kitzhaber and prison spending
Gov. John Kitzhaber said on Monday that Oregon cannot afford its current spending on state prisons, according to The Oregonian. He’s seeking to divert $600 million from prisons to families and schools.
The Oregonian reports that state prisons in Oregon now hold 14,000 inmates in 14 prisons.
