In a final vote today, the Eugene City Council approved a proposal to expand the EmX bus line into West Eugene. The final vote was 7-1, with George Polings the only council member against it, The Register-Guard reported. Poling also made a motion to get the Council to change to a public vote but lost.
The next step for the bus line will be to pass the government environmental impact standards.
The new line will likely go along West 6th, 7th and 11th Avenues. A new station would also be built on Commerce Street.
