Monday, the Pacific-10 Conference named its all-league team, highlighting the best seasons by individual players in the conference.
Oregon senior forward Maarty Leunen was named to the second team while senior guard Malik Hairston was an honorable mention.
Leunen led the Pac-10 in the three-point field goal percentage, shooting 53.3 percent (57-of-107) from beyond the arc. He was also 10th in the conference in scoring per game (15.4) and fourth in rebounding (9.3).
Hairston was eighth in the league in scoring (16.0) and fourth in three-point percentage (43.6).
UCLA’s Kevin Love was named as both Pac-10 Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year. Love is the second freshman to win the Player of the Year award, after California’s Shareef Abdur-Rahim in 1996.
Love scored in double figures in all 31 games this season and recorded 19 double-doubles.
UCLA’s Russell Westbrook won the first Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year award. It was reinstated this year after being discontinued following the 1986 season.
Stanford’s Trent Johnson was named Pac-10 Coach of the Year. He is the third Cardinal coach to receive the honor.
All the awards were voted on by the coaches in the conference.
