University senior Matthew Hagen died of complications from diabetes on March 24. He was 25.
A funeral for Hagen will be held at Gresham Memorial Chapel at 257 S.E. Roberts Ave. in Gresham, Ore., Friday at 7 p.m.
Hagen studied human physiology and business at the University. He was born Nov. 11, 1982 in Portland and graduated from David Douglas High School in 2001, according to his Facebook profile.
“He was outgoing, very bright, just an average kid,” said Denise Denton, Hagen’s aunt.
Denton said she was “kind of in a state of shock” when she found out Hagen died.
Matthew Hagen’s parents, Mike and Julie Hagen of Las Vegas, Nev., could not be reached for comment.
The family requests remembrances be sent to the American Diabetes Association.
