The Oregon track and field and cross country programs announced their annual award winners at a banquet at Autzen Stadium on Sunday.
Sophomores A.J. Acosta and Ashton Eaton shared the George Scharpf Outstanding Athlete Award. Both men were indoor All-Americans, with Acosta finishing third in the mile and Eaton sixth in the heptathlon. Eaton was also the Pacific-10 Conference champion in the decathlon, while Acosta was second in the 1,500 meters.
Nicole Blood was given the Lynne Winbigler Performer of the Year Award and the Tom Heinonen Cross Country Award after earning All-American honors in cross country and winning the Pac-10 5,000m.
Pac-10 champ Shadrack Kiptoo-Biwott and West Region champ Galen Rupp shared the men’s Bill Dellinger Cross Country Award.
Newcomers of the Year were hammer thrower Jordan Stray for the men and distance runner Alex Kosinski for the women.

Carlos Trujillo (Pac-10 10,000m champ) – Dow Wilson Inspirational Award
Keshia Baker (Pac-10 400m champ) – Harry Ritchie’s Inspirational Award
Rachel Yurkovich (Pac-10 javelin champ) – Mary Officer Award
Andrew Wheating (Pac-10 800m champ) – Harry Ritchie’s Jewelers Award
