Oregon center Max Unger was added to the Rimington Trophy watch list, the award’s committee announced yesterday.
Entering his senior season, Unger, a three-year starter from Hawaii, has already garnered an All-American first team award from Sports Illustrated and All-Pacific-10 Conference honors. Unger has also made the watch list for the 2008 Outland Trophy, handed to the NCAA’s best interior lineman.
The Rimington Trophy, named after former Nebraska center Dave Rimington, selects the nation’s best center among Division-I programs. The winner is selected by a consensus from the four All-American teams.
There are 43 players on the list, seven of which are from the Pac-10.
