Climate change is more than an environmental issue, according to two University professors who will talk about the legal issues surrounding climate change today at 4:30 p.m. in the Knight Library Browsing Room.
The event was originally scheduled for Feb. 12, but the talk was postponed because a speaker became ill.
Law school professor Hari Osofsky will present her paper “Is Climate Change an International Legal Problem?” She will talk about climate change litigation and legal approaches to cross-cutting problems such as climate change, according to a press release. The event is part of the International Studies Program’s International Research Forum.
Geography professor Alexander Murphy will also respond to Osofsky’s paper.
Earlier, he told the Emerald that climate change is an important issue for students to consider.
“We think of climate change simply in terms of physical terms, but it has all sorts of policy implications in terms of how we approach environmental law,” Murphy said.
Refreshments will be served, and the event is free.
