The Eugene Police Department’s party patrol issued 51 citations to more than 35 people at one party Friday night, police said. Four of the party’s hosts are University students.
Officers heard loud voices and music from one block away, and when they approached the house, saw a man on a cell phone telling people in the house police had arrived, EPD spokeswoman Pam Olshanski said.
Officers saw people scrambling to hide in the house, Olshanski said. They found people in locked rooms and closets, under beds and in a cupboard, Olshanski said.
Three of the hosts were cited for minor in possession, furnishing alcohol and prohibitive noise, Olshanski said. The fourth is not a minor but was cited for furnishing and noise, Olshanski said.
Christina Calise, Brandon Ghio, Noah Saltman and Michael Spiegel hosted the party at 2109 Alder St., Olshanski said. Two neighbors called the police about noise complaints, she said. Officers said they had been to the house before for noise and party complaints.
The majority of citations were for minor in possession, Olshanski said. One person was cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and another was cited for hindering prosecution.
