Senior prosecutor Debra Vogt won the Oregon State Bar’s 2006 primary election poll, defeating three other candidates as the organization’s choice for a position on the Lane County Circuit Court on Monday.
Vogt, a senior prosecutor with the Lane County District Attorney’s Office, received 44 percent of the 313 votes cast in the poll, which is held for members of the Oregon State Bar to vote on contested judicial elections. She is competing against Eugene lawyers James Chaney and Beverly Anderson and Eugene Municipal Court Judge Alan Leiman to replace retiring judge Bryan Hodges on the court.
The primary election for the seat will be held May 16; it will be the first time in 14 years that voters have had an opportunity to select a new judge for the Lane County Circuit Court.
