A 22-year-old Eugene man was arrested after he stabbed an acquaintance outside of a campus-area apartment early Monday morning, Eugene police said.
Asaad Salaam Liebig was lodged at Lane County jail for second-degree assault after stabbing Brandon Allen Goodeve, 23, outside an apartment on East 15th Avenue and Alder Street shortly before 3 a.m., said police spokeswoman Kerry Delf.
After engaging in a verbal dispute, the two went to a nearby alley and began fighting. Liebig pulled a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times, Delf said.
Goodeve was treated for stab wounds and released from Sacred Heart Medical Center.
Neither of the men appear to be students.
After the initial investigation, police officials believe the stabbing to be meth-related, Delf said.
