Oregon volleyball made this season’s first appearance Monday in the AVCA/CSTV Top 25 Coaches Poll. The Ducks sit at No. 24 between No. 23 New Mexico State and No. 25 Ohio State.
Cracking the poll comes three days after Oregon’s 3-0 road win against Civil War rival Oregon State. The win improved Oregon’s record to 16-4, 6-4 in the Pacific-10 Conference. Oregon last made it into Top 25 during the 1990 season when the Ducks made three appearances in the poll, reaching a high of No. 18.
Then coach Gerry Gregory coached the team from 1986 to 1994 and compiled a record of 115-143. Current coach Jim Moore is 28-22 at Oregon with a .560 winning percentage – the highest since Karla Rice in the 1970s. Rice amassed a .739 winning percentage in her 10-year Oregon coaching career.
