Curious, how the (Wrong) Wing is always clamoring about “God this” and “Freedom that,” yet when I have to wake up and see a sheriff on the cover of the Register-Guard ripping up scores of lush medicinal herbs grown by local gardeners because some mortal “lawmaker” deemed them an “illegal” facet of nature, I can’t help but ponder the bitter irony of the matter. Were not these plants brought into existence at a time much earlier and by an authority much grander than Eli Lilly or Pfizer and their ilk? I guess in the end, it is truly obvious who and what the Republicans really stand for, behind all of their pious rhetoric and religious hypocrisy.
I pray for the day when I can look at an officer of the law and know that he or she is there to protect the People, rather than primarily the interests of these cold, heartless corporate profiteers. “Thanks-but-no-thanks for your so-called ‘Liberty,’ Republicans,” and might I add, “Good riddance!”
