An art exhibit featuring the work of 26 faculty members from the University Department of Art opens tonight with a free, public preview reception from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art.
“Eye Contact” comprises paintings, sculptures, ceramics, fibers, jewelry and metalsmithing, photography and digital arts. It is the first faculty exhibition since the museum reopened its doors last year after a $14.2 million renovation.
“The show will provide visitors with a unique view of the ever-evolving contemporary art scene through the eyes of professional artists,” said Lawrence Fong, curator of American and regional art at the museum. “The museum is thrilled to provide visitors with an opportunity to discover work that, in many cases, can only be seen in major cities across the United States and beyond.”
The exhibition is supported by the David McCosh and Anne Kutka McCosh Memorial Museum Endowment Fund.
