Former Oregon running back/linebacker Chris Vincent recently signed with the Detroit Lions, multiple sources report.
Vincent, a 6-foot-1, 224-pound undrafted free agent, is currently listed seventh at running back on the Lions’ depth chart, located on the team’s Web site.
Vincent played just five games for the Ducks last season as a running back after suffering an ankle injury.
Vincent came to Oregon in 2002 as a transfer from LSU and redshirted his first season. He was one of three running backs used by Oregon during his redshirt freshman season in 2003. He rushed for 163 yards on 56 attempts in nine games. The Philadelphia native suffered an ankle injury that season as well and served as primarily a special teams player in 2004.
Vincent was converted to linebacker in 2005 and spent the year as a reserve, though he again was a key special teams player. He was fourth in tackles with 10 on the kickoff team and appeared in all 12 games. He returned to running back last season but carried the ball only 10 times for 41 yards.
