The University School of Music and Dance is departing from fall term with more bang than a fireworks show. Over the next seven days, the school will host more than a dozen performances. Two highlights include a holiday choir concert and the fall gospel concert. Scott Barkhurst, the music school’s spokesman, said the holiday show is a mixture of both sacred and secular music.
“It’s a good opportunity for people to get into the holiday mood,” he said.
The gospel concert will feature several hundred students from around campus and brand new choir director, Jonathan Bolden.
Other events include an experimental series called SoundBytes, a concert by the University Symphony Orchestra and several Master’s Recitals.
