Multiple-season designs premiered last week in a mix of classic black and white and gold and gray metallic at Portland Fashion Week’s “The Collections.”
Portland Fashion Week |
Though none of the shapes were groundbreaking, the details and use of fabrics felt Portland-appropriate. The city is not yet a fashion mecca, but one gaining considerable attention for its timeless designs and originality.
The designers who showed at Portland Fashion Week haven’t reached their peak, but are bursting at the seams with potential. Here are some promising designers from this year’s Portland Fashion Week.
Also featured:
ELIZABETH DYE:
Dye brightened the catwalks with her balance of neutral tones and color set against skin tone. She didn’t rule out tights, but also reintroduced bare legs with a gold babydoll and front-buttoned knee-length shift dress. Mustard yellow tights made Dye’s light gray sleeveless dress pop. A charcoal denim jumper with pockets over each leg of the shorts, punctuated with black buttons, can be layered for fall with a longsleeve and worn with boots.
LIZA RIETZ: Rietz presented season-versatile pieces with a pair of wide-legged trousers and an ivory, feminine dress that featured large pockets and a square neckline.
