Aaron Pflugrad
Freshman wide receiver
Oregon Daily Emerald: What’s the best thing about having your dad as your position coach?
Pflugrad: Probably just being there on game day, you know, being able to experience that. I know he’s really helped me throughout my career and to have him there on game day is pretty cool.
ODE: What’s the worst part of having your dad as your position coach?
Pflugrad: Everything is pretty cool, I can’t really think of anything that’s too bad. Having your dad there all the time is kind of a good thing but sometimes it can be a bad thing, also.
ODE: You’re from Eugene, do you still live at home?
Pflugrad: No, I live in the dorms with (freshman tight end) John Laidet.
ODE: Do you hit up your parents house for grub and laundry?
Pflugrad: Yeah, exactly, on weekends I’m over there a bit.
ODE: As one of the smallest guys on the field, do opposing players use that to try and get in your head a little bit?
Pflugrad: Maybe a little, they might have some names for me here and there but I don’t let it bother me. I just get back in the huddle.
ODE: Do your teammates have any nicknames for you?
Pflugrad: Actually, it’s kind of funny, they call me “Big Pflu” and they’ve started calling my dad “Little Pflu” for some reason. He doesn’t like that one too much.
ODE: Describe having your first start in Husky Stadium.
Pflugrad: It was pretty cool. I’ve been fortunate to be there a couple times for the Apple Cup when my dad was working at Washington State, so I didn’t like the Huskies too much and it was good to go in there and beat them the way we did.
