When I first heard of 94.9 Jamz bringing the “Gods of Comedy and Hip Hop” to the Pit, I thought to myself it is too good to be true. Because I was hesitant, I didn’t buy a ticket to the show, that and Oregon hasn’t had a good track record with hip hop acts – anyone remember Nelly’s short visit to Eugene? I feel for anyone in town, let alone students that drove down from Washington for the concert. The promoters should be feeling pretty low, for taking students’ hard earned money for a sub-par lineup. In the same respect if Fat Joe and Charlie Murphy were professionals they would have picked up the slack and carried the show on.
For the artists to be mad at the crowd doesn’t seem fair, the concertgoers were sold into a bait-and-switch promotion. Next time 94.9 Jamz brings in a concert, don’t be surprised if the sales slump or even tank. Students work too hard to get extra entertainment.
