Oregon led Fresno State 18-0 at one point during the Ducks’ opening-round rout of the Bulldogs in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament.
Bina Barrett scored a game-high six points for the Ducks (12-4), who ended the Bulldogs’ season at 0-14. Jana Drummond scored three goals, as did Kaitlyn Pasko.
Oregon outshot the Bulldogs 45-9 in the game.
Oregon will play either Saint Mary’s or California tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.
Oregon’s Drummond started off the tournament on a positive note when she won Newcomer of the Year on Wednesday at a banquet for teams and coaches.
The freshman leads Oregon with 37 points, and the Ducks have gone 10-2 since she began starting.
Last week, Drummond scored seven goals in one game against Cal, a 13-12 Oregon loss, that set a program record and is the highest mark this season in the MPSF. She won MPSF player of the week awards for that.
Also, Ilsa van den Berg, Cara Mead, Anna Poponyak and Alicia Burkhart were named to all-MPSF teams. It is the third time for such an honor for van den Berg and Burkhart and is the first for Mead and Poponyak, both fifth-year seniors.
