The Oregon men’s and women’s basketball teams will conclude their exhibition seasons this weekend at McArthur Court.
The Duck women go first, playing on Sunday at 2 p.m. against Western Oregon.
First-year head coach Paul Westhead had a successful debut in front of the Eugene faithful on Tuesday night, as Oregon won its first exhibition game 109-47 against Southern Oregon. Four Ducks combined to score 15 or more points — led by Micaela Cocks’ 22 — and Westhead’s full-court press defense worked to the tune of 45 Western Oregon
turnovers and 29 Oregon steals.
Guard Taylor Lilley sat out the exhibition game against the Raiders, and it is not known whether she will play against the Wolves. Guard/forward Aliyah Green will not play, as she continues to rehabilitate the torn anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee.
Head coach Ernie Kent and the Oregon men will take the floor against Lewis & Clark immediately following the women’s game Sunday, at 6 p.m.
Neither of these games will count toward the teams’ official records. The men will officially begin play on Friday, Nov. 13, with their game against Winston-Salem State in the BTI Tip-Off Tournament, held at McArthur Court. The women will also be at home for their first official game of the season, a Nov. 16 contest against Eastern Washington.
